Datejust 36 or 41? Submariner or GMT-Master II? A Rolex is a five-figure decision, usually made from wrist shots on someone else's arm. Upload a photo of your wrist and any Rolex, and Agalaz shows that exact watch on YOUR wrist in about 30 seconds.

Why try a Rolex on your own wrist first

Case size is the most common regret. A 41mm Submariner that looks balanced on a 7.5" (19 cm) wrist can overhang a 6.25" (16 cm) wrist, while a 36mm Datejust can look small on a broad one. Bracelet style, bezel and metal change the presence just as much: a fluted white-gold bezel catches light, a ceramic dive bezel reads sporty, two-tone Rolesor reads dressier. Seeing the watch on your own wrist, skin tone and lighting answers those questions before you visit an authorised dealer or buy pre-owned. Agalaz is an independent virtual try-on tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rolex SA.

How to get an accurate Rolex try-on

  • Photograph your wrist from above, hand relaxed, in daylight — the same angle as a wrist shot.
  • Use a clear photo of the exact reference (model, size, dial and bracelet) you are considering.
  • Compare two sizes side by side, e.g. Datejust 36 vs 41, or Oyster Perpetual 36 vs 41.
  • Check the lugs: if they reach past the edges of your wrist, the case is likely too big.

The Rolex models people try on most

1

Submariner (41mm)

The classic dive watch. Black or green ceramic bezel, Oyster bracelet. Sporty but wears well with a suit.

2

Datejust (36 / 41mm)

The most versatile Rolex. Fluted or smooth bezel, Jubilee or Oyster bracelet, dozens of dials. 36 suits smaller wrists, 41 larger ones.

3

Cosmograph Daytona (40mm)

The chronograph icon. Three subdials and a tachymeter bezel — try steel, two-tone and gold versions.

4

GMT-Master II (40mm)

Two time zones and a two-colour bezel ("Pepsi", "Batman", "Root Beer"). Jubilee or Oyster bracelet.

5

Day-Date (36 / 40mm)

Precious metal only, President bracelet, day and date at 12 and 3. The most formal Rolex.

6

Oyster Perpetual (28-41mm)

The cleanest, simplest Rolex with bright dial colours. The widest size range for every wrist.

Common mistakes

Rolex buying mistakes a try-on prevents

Choosing size from a celebrity wrist shot

Wrist sizes vary by several centimetres; what looks right on them may not on you.

Ignoring the bracelet

A Jubilee bracelet looks dressier and lighter than an Oyster bracelet on the same watch.

Buying a gold or two-tone piece blind

Yellow, Everose and white gold look very different against different skin tones.
