Virtual Try-On vs Augmented Reality: What's the Difference?
Both "try-on" but very different.
Real example: same person, before and after.

Both "try-on" but very different.
You upload ONE static photo. AI generates new photo of you wearing the garment. Pros: high photorealism, ANY garment from a photo, shareable result, no hardware. Cons: static no movement, 10-30s render.
Camera shows you live with digital overlay. Pros: real-time movement, good for glasses/makeup, no upload. Cons: lower photorealism, only items the app modeled, not shareable.
• Clothing / dresses → virtual try-on wins • Glasses / makeup → AR comparable • Pinterest dress reference → virtual try-on (AR can't do this)
