Shiromuku try-on
the white Japanese bridal kimono, on your own photo.

The shiromuku is the all-white silk kimono worn by Japanese brides for Shinto ceremonies, with a wataboshi hood or tsunokakushi headpiece. It is almost always rented — preview the look first.

The shiromuku explained

White symbolises purity and a new beginning. The kimono is white from head to toe, with woven or embroidered white patterns that catch the light. The bride wears a wataboshi (a large white hood) or a tsunokakushi (a headpiece over the bunkin takashimada hairstyle).

How to get it right

  • Choose woven pattern: cranes, pines, flowers.
  • Wataboshi for the shrine; tsunokakushi for photos.
  • Contrast red details (linings, accessories) are optional.
